  1. This Platform - OTMentorship.com: Yes, this is a brand new site as of 2021, but we aim to become a go-to location for mentees and mentors to frequent as they begin, grow, and retire from their careers as occupational therapists. Mentors can use this platform to get connected with those they can help while earning income. Mentees can use this site to find experienced OT's who can help them develop new skills or getting help with specific challenges they are facing in their careers.
  2. Build relationships: Yes, this is the good old-fashioned way. Good ol' fashion networking works and it usually produces some sort of mentorship without the price tag. Can't go wrong here as long as you don't take take take from your mentor. Make sure you're bringing something to the relationship as well.
  3. Mandy Chamberlains OT Learning Lab. Mandy has created an amazing business model via a membership site that serves occupational therapy professionals working with adults and older clients. This membership site is designed to help occupational therapy professionals develop their skills, competency, and improve their interventions. The thing I LOVE about membership sites is that you basically get access to a ton of content for a super reasonable fee. In fact, you'd probably pay the same price for 1-2 hours of 1-on-1 talk time with another OT Mentor. CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT.
  4. Continuing Education Sites. My first year of OT practice, I signed up for OccupationalTherapy.com. At $99 per year, it's hard to beat. You get access to hundreds of courses on a variety of different topics. This price really can't be beat! GET YOUR DISCOUNT HERE! Another great website that is a little more expensive is called Medbridge. I haven't used it yet, but I've heard the quality of courses is sometimes better, but I doubt that's true. It usually really depends on the course itself and less the platform. If you're super ambitious about becoming a great OT as fast as you can, you can subscribe to both and get access to more information than you'll be able to consume.
  5. American Occupational Therapy Association Membership: In order to keep up to speed on evidenced-based practice, developments in our profession, and other important news, you should become a member of AOTA. It should be one of your core avenues to develop and grow as an occupational therapist.
